A small aquarium pump that can be set up three ways: as a power head, as a utility pump or as a propeller-style circulation pump. As a power head it moves up to 160 gallons an hour, and as a circulation pump up to 750 gallons an hour. As a utility pump it lifts water up to 3.5 feet. The parts to convert it from power head to circulation pump are in the box. The maker says it is for freshwater and marine tanks, and that it can drive an undergravel filter or run on a wave maker timer. Of the Maxi-Jet models, the shop sells the 600. Unplug the pump first, then rinse the intake and the impeller every few weeks. A clogged intake is the usual reason the flow drops.
