An air pump in a bedroom gets unplugged if it buzzes. This one runs on 3 watts and is built to stay quiet, and it has two outlets so it can drive a sponge filter and an air stone at the same time. It moves 80 gallons of air an hour and is rated for tanks up to 100 gallons. Two outlets run two things at once, each with its own adjustment. The airflow is adjustable, so a small sponge filter does not get blasted. It draws 3 watts, which is cheap enough to leave running all the time. Fit a check valve between the pump and the tank, and keep the pump above the water line. Both stop the tank siphoning itself into the pump in a power cut.
