A cage on a stand puts the bird at eye level, which is where a tame bird wants to be. This one stands 53.5 inches tall on four swivel casters, the cage body measures 24.5 by 17 inches, and the bars sit 0.4 inches apart. The whole unit stands 53.5 inches tall and the cage body measures 24.5 inches wide by 17 inches deep, so it suits budgies, lovebirds and canaries rather than a cockatiel, which needs more floor. Bar spacing is 0.4 inches, safe for the smallest birds in the house. There are eight doors in total, including four feeder doors you can fill from outside without reaching in. The front door and the feeder doors all lock, so a clever bird cannot let itself out while you are at work. The stand detaches, and the casters bolt straight onto the cage if you would rather stand it on a table. A shelf under the cage holds the food tub, the cleaner and the spare cups. Keep the cage against a wall rather than in the middle of a room. A bird with something solid behind it settles faster than one that can be approached from every side.
