A small bird flies across a cage, not up and down it, so length is the measurement that matters. This one is 30 inches wide and 18 inches deep, and the bars sit 0.4 inches apart, which is close enough that a finch cannot get its head through. The cage measures 30 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 18 inches high, so a budgie or a canary can take real wingbeats between the end walls. Bar spacing is 0.4 inches, narrow enough for finches, canaries, budgies and lovebirds. Two feeding cups and two perches come in the box, and the tray slides out from the front for cleaning. A second cage stacks on top of this one if you keep two pairs that cannot share a space. The carry handle on top means the whole cage moves to another room without being taken apart. Set the perches at different heights and at both ends, not in the middle. A bird that has to fly to reach its food bowl gets exercise every day without you doing anything.
