A rope perch bends into whatever shape you set it in, so you can run a path across the cage instead of adding another straight bar. The soft twist also changes thickness along its length, which gives the foot a different grip at every step. The perch is 31.5 inches long, enough to cross a cage corner to corner or ring an inside wall. Metal nuts at both ends bolt it through the bars so it cannot swing loose. It holds an arch, an S-bend or a straight run, whichever you shape it into. The soft surface suits a bird that has spent its life on hard dowels. Check the ends every few weeks. A bird that chews rope can loosen the wire inside, and that is the one part of a rope perch worth watching.
