An adjustable strap that holds an inside door open just wide enough for your cat, so a dog cannot follow it to the litter box or the cat food. The gap adjusts from fully closed up to 6 inches wide. It sticks to the door and the door frame with 3M adhesive pads, so there are no tools and no holes. Do not stick it to drywall. The adhesive needs 24 to 48 hours to reach full strength, so wait a day or two before the first real test. The strap flexes and latches from either side, so you can still open the door yourself. It works on standard, double, pocket and accordion doors. This version has no door stopper, so the door can still swing shut. The maker says it holds back dogs up to 120 pounds, and that results depend on the paint and on the dog. Set the gap to the width of your cat's shoulders. If your dog is determined, the maker suggests fitting the strap on the back of the door for a stronger hold.
